Career History
Howard graduated with a Chemical Engineering degree (Wits) funded by one of the two AECI annual scholarships and after graduation, worked in a production environment as a Process Engineer. Thereafter he was employed for 14 years with a multi-national hi-tech biochemistry and chemistry instrumentation company where he worked up the ranks to Regional Sales Manager during which time he completed an MBA (UCT), with distinction. Howard then started his own consulting practice with a specific focus on business strategy which took him, on behalf of some of his clients, to Australia and the USA, interacting with multinational stakeholders in the mining industry. Several start-up ventures were also amongst his consulting projects. One of the long term strategic and business consulting restructuring contracts resulted in Howard accepting employment as their MD for the period of the contract, commuting weekly to Johannesburg from Cape Town. Howard then moved to Pam Golding Properties (PGP) for 16 years, first managing their Southern Suburbs flagship branch with over 30 estate agents, a fully-fledged administration section and an significant residential sales budget. After 5 years he was promoted to the Pam Golding Properties Head Office role as National Manager, Business Development and in 2018 took on a new executive role as Head of Stakeholder Services. This role had large portfolio, which interalia, included responsibility as Head of the Pam Golding Properties Training Academy, business relationships and compliance with the PPRA (old EAAB) and the SSETA, member of the ooba Advisory Board, responsibility for the ooba business mortgage origination performance in the PGP Group, the relationship with the Property24 and Private Property listing portals, Business Intelligence, Franchise Services support, membership of the Rental Task Team, membership of the Social and Ethics Committee, business relationships with the four SA commercial banks & Distressed Sales Department Head. Howard left Pam Golding Properties in 2019, moved to Hermanus and is now selling property for Hermanus Property Sales applying his widespread experience, reputation and real estate network to provide a professional service.
